Program Overview
The THŌT Project is an art program that explores how narratives are shaped and how they can be transformed through creativity, reflection, and shared expression.
At the heart of the program are sculptural blank pieces that serve as a canvas for ideas. Local artists are invited to apply and, once selected, receive a piece to paint or intervene with their own interpretation of something positive and meaningful about life in our beautiful frontera.
Each finished piece becomes a visual pensamiento; a thought made visible. These works are exhibited in public spaces, cultural venues, and community events, sparking conversation and connection within the community. The pieces are also available for purchase, allowing the program to sustain itself by reinvesting in future editions.

Why it matters
Narratives do not change on their own. They change when new ideas are introduced, when perspectives are shared, and when communities are invited to think differently.
"Pensamientos" uses art as a tool to challenge outdated perceptions of the border by centering positive, human, and lived experiences. The thinking bubble symbolizes the origin of every story: a thought, a memory, a mindset. By making these thoughts visible, the program encourages reflection, dialogue, and pride in our collective identity.
How to participate
Artists interested in participating will be invited to apply through the open call. Selected artists will receive a blank thinking bubble and guidelines for the program, while maintaining full creative freedom to interpret the theme through their own vision and obtaining recognition for their contribution.
Community members can engage with the program by attending exhibitions, experiencing the artwork in person, and supporting through acquisition when pieces are available for sale.
Exhibition opportunities are ongoing, and Somos Frontera actively seeks venues, events, and partners interested in hosting "Pensamientos" installations.
How can you support
This program is currently in development mode and requires initial funding to launch. Your support allows us to purchase the first set of sculptures, begin artist collaborations, and establish the exhibition cycle.
