Program Overview

Harvest to Basket Farm Tours is a Somos Frontera program created to promote a healthier lifestyle, help the local food systems, and connect the community with the people who grow our food.

This monthly program invites participants to step beyond the grocery aisle and into the fields, farms, and spaces where food is cultivated with care. Through guided farm visits, guests meet local farmers, learn about regional agriculture, and explore a more intentional and sustainable way of living rooted in our borderland.

The program also highlights the Local Food Directory developed by the RGC Regional Food Business Center, a valuable resource that makes it easier for the community to discover and support regional producers.

Why it matters

Choosing food from local farms goes beyond supporting the local economy. It means access to fresh, seasonal, and often organic foods that contribute to overall well-being.

It also strengthens relationships between farmers and the community, fostering appreciation for the land that sustains us.

How to participate

The Farm Tours are offered monthly and are open to the public through advance RSVP. Space is limited to ensure a high-quality, respectful experience for both participants and farmers.
